Black Panther’s Wakanda Speak South African Language, IsiXhosa



The inhabitants of the fictitious African Kingdom of Wakanda, where the story of Black Panther takes place, will be speaking isiXhosa, a South African language. Africa will really be promoted in the movie, Black Panther. Apart from having real Africans acting in the movie like Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Sope Aluko, John Kani, and Daniel Kaluuya, they’ll also be speaking an African language, isiXhosa.
The inhabitants of the fictitious African Kingdom of Wakanda, where the story of Black Panther takes place, will be speaking a real African language.
Wakanda’s citizens in Marvel’s first African superhero movie will be speaking isiXhosa, a South African language known for its rhythm and distinctive click sounds.
Black Panther is centred around the lead character, T’Challa who has to take over the throne in the resource-rich, technologically-advanced African country after his father is murdered.
Chadwick Boseman plays the role of T’Challa, the new king and Black Panther who made his first appearance in the Marvel Cineverse in “Captain America: Civil War”.
The language is used only briefly in the movie, but it shone attention to Africa and this has brought a lot of excitement and speculation.
Africa has been ignored by Hollywood for the most part, so fans are excited about what the movie will do for the continent.
