This video attempts to simplify the delayed choice quantum eraser experiment and share the shocking implications. i would also like to thank Physicists Bruce Rosenblum and Fred Kuttner for reviewing this video. I did not mention them in the video because they didn’t get back to me until the after the video was complete and uploaded.

  1. There is no magic here about delayed choice and it has nothing to do with a conscious observer. The photon that reaches detector D0 ( which happens first ) determines where the other photon will end up. That is all there is.

  2. IP, an experiment was done by a father who never taught his son the color blue, meaning from when he was born till when he first went to grade school his father never used, mentioned or told him about the color blue. When the boy was asked what color the sky was later when he was in school, he did not know and said that it was a shade of grey.

So it appears that our knowledge of color creates the color within our consciouses awareness. Perhaps since color is waves and photons, I wonder if there is a correlation here with the delayed choice quantum eraser experiment?

Furthermore, there is a tribe in Africa called the Himba tribe, and they have no words for the color blue, but a bunch of words for all the subtle shade of green. When shown a bunch of green color swatches all the same shade of green except one which was blue, they could not pick out the blue color swatches. The experiment was flipped so that they did the color swatches with all the same shade of green, and one swatch was a different shade of green and showed it to westerners and the westerners could not pick out the different shade of green.

  3. I dont know if I can believe it… so is this trying to say one person can change the memory of two people or just where they recorded it but didn't look? I'm not understanding how to verify the change in the past timeline or even for whom they are meaning exactly…

  4. Curious, if you wrote down the result of D0, would the written result of D0 change to match its entangled twin. I'd like to know the process used of determining D0s historical change to match its entangled pair.

  5. I'm really disappointed every time I see an eyeball used to represent the observation of which slit the particle/photon went through. What sensors are actually being used? Polarizers? Well polarizing the light changes the electric fields created. Likewise reflection off of half silvered mirrors makes polarized light of two different polarizations.

  6. If our knowledge about the observation decides the outcome then what if, in this experiment, the outcomes on these detectors are observed by some conscious person who don't know what to interpret form it. Will the path information be considered as known or unknown. How the result might come in this case. Please clear this doubt.

  7. Why do the interference patterns of d1 and d2 sum to a non inteference pattern like this of d3 or d4? If all is about knowledge, I would expect the sum of d1 and d2 to be interference, because for either one we don't know the path.

  8. What confuses me about this presentation is the use of the words "before" and "after" when describing a particle that travels at light speed, and thus experiences zero elapsed time. From the perspective of the photons, zero time has elapsed regardless of path or distance. Emission, refraction, reflection and detection of each individual photon is simultaneous.

  9. Excellent video… makes no sense, but still, it's a good video. Can't wait for a day somebody figures a common sense solution to this crap, leaving the rest of us looking like complete imbeciles.

  10. The definition of observation in this context isn't a conscious observation, or having anything to do with knowledge. The scientist who coined the term "observation" regrets it, as it's spawned so much mysticism to quantum physics. A better term is "measurement", meaning that in order to "observe" or "measure" a particle, it must be interacted with. There is no way to know the path of a particle (photon, electron) without bouncing another particle off it. This is why a laser beam cannot be seen, unless projected through a cloud of dust. Without the dust, the photons move in a straight, polar direction, and only after bouncing off whatever surface they're aimed at is the laser dot visible. The dust allows the photons in the beam to bounce and scatter, making it visible. So, it's not the act of a conscious observer that affects the path of photons, but the act of making an "observation" by means of interacting particles with other particles that causes the results of the experiments.

  11. Forget quantum erasure. What happens if you centrifuge one end of the entanglement by injecting the photon at r=1cm, pass it through a fiber optic cable to the r=10cm, along the radius of the centrifuge, while it spins at 10000 rpms?

  12. "Christian Science Ministry" is an oxymoron.

E.g., the author suggests reading a paper by a pastor interpreting the experiment instead of suggesting the original experimental paper.

  13. It occurs to me that when a photon does not interact, (interact meaning the elements affect one another), with something, it is not detected. When it DOES interact, as with a detector, it is altered. How can a photon strike a detector to be detected, without that photon being altered???

  14. Since you start with an entangled pair you won't get interference in D0 independent on what you do.
Not only which path information removes interference, entanglement removes interference as well.
The entanglement adds knowledge to the system, like which path info does.
