For most of history, scientists weren’t quite sure why our hearts were beating or even what purpose they served. Edmond Hui investigates how it all works by taking a closer look at the heart’s highly efficient ventricle system.

  1. Honestly this was not really much of an explanation. All you said was the heart contracts which causes the water to be pushed out. But it was however a good little heart explanation.

  2. I watched this to study the direction of the blood and remember what’s oxygenated and what isn’t… that whole diagram is false. Spent 10 minutes rewatching, using it to study for an exam.

  3. 한국어 번역하신분의 노고는 알겠지만 너무 직역으로 번역해서 뭔 말인지 알수가 없네요. 한영통역자료로 쓸까해서 한국말 수정하다 포기했습니다.

  4. I like the idea of cutting off the atria and filling up the ventricles with water and squeezing it to show how the blood flows….I guess that is the major point. I will try that. Thanks.

  5. At 1:43, the right side of the heart should be recieving the deoxygenated blood and the left side should be pumping the oxygenated blood. It's ironic that he talks about potential confusion immediately after showing something that is incorrect, or at least could have been visualized in a better way.
