  1. Regarding pivotal history: what is the opposite of pivotal history? It would be linear history, going from 0 to infinity. Pivotal history would mean it comes from infinity, passes through 0, and then goes to infinity again. What is history more like? All ancient religious myth would opt for 'pivotal', being in the beginning with God, going through some kind of fall, and then rising again towards God.
The personal histories of each human being also look pivotal: There is my past behind me, the future in front of me. I am the pivot. In the pivot enters freedom. The future is not determined, I have to decide where to go. Because human beings are at least potentially free, they live pivotal histories. The linear history is determined unfreedom.
That Christ's appearance on the earth is a cosmic pivotal event can be demonstrated. It is the turning point, where the cosmic downward trend has been given the potential to become an upward trend.
To say that Christ has no influence on history is to deny the possibility of a reversal of fortunes, and to choose fatalistically a history towards final entropy.

  2. Evolution of consciousness is an apt overlay when discussing how we got to our current views of world, metaphysics and all. He is not talking about natural selection at play in consciousness (which is it's own topic) he is talking about a Barfieldian view of "Evolution" of consciousness which out simply is, today we see the world differently than we did going back in time and traces these changes in the changes of meaning in the words, languages and art forms over the last 12,000 years or so. So to paraphrase the host "stories are the same as they were back then so Plato was just a dude reporting about a NDE he heard about" misses the point the guest is trying to make and maybe the most materialistic Interpretation of the mentioned Platonic story. Love the show

  3. I like Mark Vernon. I wish Rupert and he did more episodes of their show. That thing about the way someone is experiencing time being indicative of their state is fascinating to think. Really great talk. Seth(Jane Roberts), when talking about christ returning said that this person would be known as a great psychic and will tell people, "Abandon your ways". I always thought "abandon your ways" was an interesting idea. Begs the question how quickly can a mind change? especially an entire belief system/world view.

  4. Is there any evidence that the imagery and plot of The Devine Comedy is drawn from an NDE rather than a purely fictional work of imagination? Because I have never heard that before and haven't found evidence to support it.

  5. First century was the outset of a new age–Pisces, associated with the spiritual world

We entered another new age 19 years ago–Aquarius, associated with the water-bearer, washing away the old and leaving room for the new.

  6. Thank you so much. The most meaningful and insightful part of this dialogue, for me, was at 1:06 when your guest explained the neo-platonic concept that the One sort of 'over-spilled' Itself and as the emanations rippled outward they lost touch withe the One, but deepened their individualization, so that the particular came into being, and then what the Hindus call the "Inbreathing of Brahma" could begin, the Great Involution, where the distant emanations, return back to their Divine Source – but individuated…
That, to me, says it all in a nutshell. The upward spiral.

If I could just make a constructive criticism here. It was a blessing to hear this, but all the prelude before 1:06 reminded me of the inundation of all the mind-numbing fake news stories of Mueller/Russiagate – which was so much nonsense, yet people gave it so much traction in public discourse, kept watching CNN, etc… So too, why waste time and give traction to the equally bankrupt scientism of the day which maintains the absurd idea that consciousness doesn't exist? I'm hardly an expert, but first of all, I don't think that ridiculous scientistic prejudice IS so monolithic among scientists today. I think there are more progressives like Rupert Sheldrake in the mix. Consciousness Studies is a legitimate field. I don't think it's such a heretical idea any longer. It's kind of like you "gum up the works' of the discussion, by even devoting so much time to it.

I don't think I'm so unique in that my daily inner work spiritual practice involves centering myself in the Eternal Now, and on our collective planetary presence, within our human collective consciousness field. Then gradually, expand that sense of presence out into the Cosmos, which I conceive of as the Most Holy body of our Great Cosmic Mother – In All Things, and Above All Things – in which we "live, move and have our being" and feel myself participating in that collective consciousness field with all other beings, on other worlds at this same level of consciousness, sending out energies of Love, Oneness and Peace to all our brothers and sisters in Divine Life Creation – on whichever world they happen to be on, and in whatever physical form, an also focus on our love and Oneness with our Great Cosmic Mother. Just recently I came to see this Oneness of all Divine Life as Christ Consciousness. I remember the Theosophical Society years ago had a book about how the Buddha began the esoteric work of creating the Christ Consciousness Field in humanity, and Jesus completed the work. I want to get that book now that I have returned to a deeper understanding of Jesus. Also, this video of how the talmudic evil in the world began by a sort of deliberate 'smashing'of the human collective consciousness field by dark forces damaged us and how much even today the satanic talmudic zionists hate Jesus, made me return to Jesus. It's really disturbing stuff (I'll include another link I feel is relevant), but we have to face the situation we are in, it's a spiritual war going on, and we can't sit on the sidelines in this one. https://www.bitchute.com/video/9ghIiVWnCYz2/ and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=66cTxZeaLVA&ab_channel=EddelsonJames

There's more dimensions to my practice, but I just want to convey the idea that I don't think it's such a rarity that many people today, from many sacred traditions, are creating their own inner work spiritual practice and on a daily basis, for brief periods, disengage from clock time to center into the Eternal Now, and to expand their conscious sense of presence onto the Universal scale. Just DO it.

  7. "I don't know if that makes any sense"… Skeptiko: " yeah, it doesn't." BAHAHAHA! I fricken love ya, Mark. Your guests never get away with lame answers. They should eat their Wheaties and expect the tough questions that make them uncomfortable.

  8. Christ consciousness? If you believe full hearted that he (Jesus.) is real, then so "Christ consciousness is real. Maybe that's why some see Jesus in there NDE's." They believe!
If a Trump supporter see's Trump in there NDE, then that doesn't prove anything other than being one sick SOB! Psychotherapy is just too subjective to come to any conclusion other than what "Your" asking and seeing. I'm happy to know there is life after death and that's it. "Thanks everyone for coming out, have a safe trip back home." Psychoanalysing NDE's, ET's… will never bring us to a satisfying conclusion everyone will swallow! Forget about it!
I want to know who, how they formed, carved, cut those stones in Peru! I want to know more about reincarnation, paranormal, ET's…
Anyone know a good Psychotherapist, I may need one. lol
